Legacy 28 Express

This 2001 Legacy 28’ Express has been well maintained by her current owner for 17 years and is ready for continued adventures on the water.

It is powered by a reliable Yanmar 6 cyl 250 HP diesel engine with 2,400 hours on the tach.  A recent thorough professional service session has been completed. Two 4D heavy duty batteries and smart charger supply house and engine needs.

“Messing About” is an ideal vessel for at home cruising on rivers, coastal waterways or great lakes with exceptional accommodations and comfort. The cockpit and enclosed helm deck provide abundant seating and ample storage.

A complete suite of instruments including recently upgraded chart plotter, 4 KW color radar, auto pilot, bow thruster, trim tab controls, remote anchor windlass and new VHF are conveniently located at the helm station.  Comfortable helm and mate seats provide great visibility, and the power center window vent allows for more fresh air into the cockpit.

Below deck, the cherry trimmed cabin is furnished with four large opening port lights, hatch, and truly comfortable v-berth bunks. An enclosed head with H&C shower and the efficient Wilcox manual toilet is to starboard.  The complete port side galley features a two burner propane cooktop and new Norcold freezer fridge.  With adequate countertop and storage space, meal preparation is practical and clean up is simple.  

All LED lighting makes for pleasant evenings aboard and the thermostatically controlled Espar forced air furnace will keep you warm in cold temperatures. Clarion AM/FM CD player with Bose speaker make overnight or extended voyages fun on this stout, seaworthy vessel.  

The engine room hatch offers easy access to the engine, 2 x 60 gal fuel tanks, batteries, water heater, shaft housing, fuel manifold oil change pump and muffler.
